At the hospital...

We arrived at the hospital on Monday morning. Olivia slept great but I'm not sure David or I could say the same. Everything went smoothly with checking in and Olivia didn't seem nervous obviously the benefits of never having surgery. Here are some pictures of her before...

Olivia getting familiar with everything. They were making her feel so comfortable and they had covered the mask with bubblegum smell so she was in heaven.

Post-op...
Olivia woke up around 11:45 am pretty violent. She was hysterical screaming for me (and they had already brought me in I was right next to her), kicking, trying to pull out her IV so they had to sedate her because they said she was delirious which can sometimes happen. The next time she woke up she did it again and so they had to sedate her with a different drug and that seemed to do the trick. She woke up for a 3rd time after sleeping for quite awhile doing much better and more aware. They only let one parent in at a time because it was busy in there. My husband came in once to see Olivia in the post-op but was immediately brought back out by one of the male nurses because he almost passed out. It provided some laughs because this is the guy that wanted to be a doctor at one point which he quickly corrected me and said it was a radiologist. We didn't get up to our room till after 4:00 pm.

We all spent the night in the room. Olivia was READY to go home on Tuesday. She said she was bored. I definitely am so thankful we only had to be there for a short visit. It's a blessing to have healthy children!

Oh my... I am so glad that she is okay. It was a bit startling to look at the blog and see Olivia in the hospital!

We are glad things went well.
