Jaime & Datton's Wedding

Jaime & Datton got married in July. They started the weekend of festivities off with a very small, intimate family ceremony. The next day had a beautiful Vietnamese ceremony that we had the pleasure of attending. Then the following day had a wonderful reception. It was great to see them so happy and to celebrate the start of their new life together.

The Vietnamese Ceremony...

Toasting each other at the end of the ceremony.

Of course we had a blast lighting up the dance floor. I was a bit sore the next day but worth every minute of it. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Khuu!

Sunriver

We headed to Sunriver for the Pacific Crest Race weekend. It was warm that weekend in Sunriver. Which was a nice treat given the weather we've had in Portland lately. David was doing the 1/2 ironman race and Olivia was doing the kids triathlon (with 600 other children). There are a ton of different races that weekend so we also were able to watch Sonia do her first duathlon on Sunday. Here are some photos from the weekend.

The Kids Triathlon was fun to watch. Here is the bike transition.

There were 77, 7-8 year olds that completed the race. They came in two's; first running through the pools and then curving around the corner to the bike transition. Here comes Olivia...it looked like she was having so much fun.

Locating her bike and following the signs to the course.

My favorite part was when Olivia rode by us she had to give a shout out to her sister. She cracks me up!

Finish line...the kids came running in to the village much like the adults during their races the rest of the weekend and are presented with a medal. Olivia was so proud of her medal.

I don't have any pictures of David racing. I forgot to bring my camera to the finish line...oops! However, I feel it's important to note that this was his 12th 1/2 ironman. I love his dedication to finishing his goal (completing all the North American Ironman races by the time he is 40)...he'll be doing his 5th Ironman this winter.

We had some friends over the evening after his race.

David helping Mia and trying to rest.

Sonia getting ready for her race on Sunday.

After we saw Sonia off. Here's David taking the kids to watch the swim portion of the Olympic Triathlon.

Beautiful swim start...

We were able to catch Sonia on the run...she looked strong.

The move...

The move took longer than we expected. Separating the items to storage and to the condo was a bit more time consuming than we expected. The movers came at 9AM and by 10:00PM we finally had all of our stuff at the condo. Our storage is packed full luckily we have a small aisle to be able to find things we might need come winter time. The girls love where we are living now. Mia says "it's cozy" and Olivia loves being close to her new school & the 3 playgrounds it hosts. We are a hit with the neighbors because our kids are the only children here. We try to not be too loud being on the 2nd floor but our neighbor below says "loud feet equals happy feet"...bless her heart!

The girls also had their last day of school on the day we moved. Here's a picture of each of them heading off.

Olivia excited for summer & to be a second grader now!

Mia was pretty focused on making sure her cards she made for her teachers were taken carefully to school.

Plus, it was Father's Day weekend so we tried to treat David on Sunday with no unpacking and some relaxing. He was hard at work trying to make everyone feel comfortable in our new digs. Happy Father's Day!!!

Maui

We had a great time in Maui! We met David in Maui and the kids were so great for me on the flight. The girls are getting to be so big that traveling is becoming a breeze with them. However, once we did land I thought asking them to go to the grocery store may throw them over the edge so we immediately headed to the pool. The vacation literally consisted of pool, beach, pool and of course eating. It was great and perfect because once we returned home it was more packing and moving out of our house 4 days later.

Our first day playing at the beach. I'm pretty sure we had a couple hours of beach/pool time all before 10:00AM!

It was surprising how much sand Olivia had in her swim suit.

Playing a little song on the boardwalk.

Olivia took this picture...

Mia was just fine sitting by the pool coloring or playing with polly pockets.

I really enjoyed just sitting on the beach especially with this view!

Olivia's favorite thing to do...anything in the ocean.

Digging a hole...

The girls having dinner on the beach.

Evening beach walk...I couldn't figure out how to get our camera to work correctly in this setting.

I mean...

if you give a 4 1/2 year old the opportunity to dress herself and also say no dresses (which is her favorite) this is what you get...

My favorite is the socks with her new sandals and I'm pretty positive that sweater is a 2T. Nice job mom on keeping up with closet clean out!

Here's the token photo of big sister who wanted to get in to the mix too!

Packing or Playing???

I think by this photo you have a pretty good idea. I have to agree it's not fun to pack. Thankfully Olivia has taken an interest to packing the fragile items. She enjoys wrapping up things and making sure they are organized into boxes. I could probably use a little bit of her enthusiasm.

They had just spent the night with Nana and as always they had a blast. The face painting was the morning activity for them.

I know, I know...

where to start clearly I'm behind!

SOLD!!!
Our house has been sold and we are renters in our old home. The process moved pretty quickly and now we haven't been able to find that dream home. We feel compelled to be picky so we are looking for a rental at this point. However, we are very excited to move closer in to town and drive less!!!

Cirque du Soleil
We took the girls to see Cirque. They loved it so much. Both were amazed by the event and sat still the entire show. Now, we get to hear screams of excitement each time we drive by the tents.

Father/Daughter Dance
David took the girls to the Father/Daughter dance and they had a great time. It was lots of Disney Princess music, hula hooping and treats.

Girl's Weekend
I had the honor of spending my annual girl's weekend at the beach with my best college girl friends and our moms. It was so great! We basically chit chat, eat, and chat some more. So much has happened in our lives this last year it was a much needed getaway and reconnecting with each other. I just love them!

Abeja
We joined some of our great friends in Walla Walla, Washington for some wine tasting. Tim, Sonia, Alex, Chelsea, Graham and Jen were all in for a fun weekend. We stayed at Abeja...amazing! The food, accommodations, and service were outstanding and we highly recommend it.

Cycling
Olivia has taken to biking. Her philosophy is anytime, anywhere! So, David and Olivia have started to ride together. At first they started with him running while she road her bike but now that has turned in to them riding together. The story is now that she is in need of a road bike because her legs can power faster than her bike can go (picture my face when I hear this line). David is THRILLED to have a buddy and Olivia is just as excited to expend energy on the weekends.
