Sometimes you just have to laugh...

We were at Target this morning getting some things. Olivia is throwing a fit because she wanted an icee at 10:30AM and I said no. Mia was doing fine until we were leaving and I guess she realized we weren't getting snacks and decided to throw her fit. So I finally get them in the car and as I'm getting ready to back up I get hit in the arm by a lens (from Mia's glasses) and quickly followed by her frames. I seriously tried my hardest to not laugh out loud but I was like really? This is what she does when she is really angry. Needless to say me laughing to myself helped me realize it's good to laugh. Shortly after the kids apologized...I'm sure once they realized we were going home and all the other activities were no longer going to happen.

I kept thinking to myself can you imagine acting like this in the workplace...this is when I started laughing again.

Farewell Dinner

We had a dinner to send off Jason and Allison. We met up at the Bergler's house to enjoy some drinks and a wonderful slide show of our friendship over the years. Lisa and her new fiance Morgan, Jen & Graham flew in from Coeur D'Alene, Alex & Chelsea drove from Seattle and David was unable to join us as he was busy sweating it out in Palm Desert training for Ironman Canada. Sonia had asked for pictures from the group. It started in 1994 when most of the boys were in the fraternity together and carried on through the years. We've gone through so much together, marriages, pregnancies, kid birthday parties, beaver football games and vacations together. Sonia did a great job and we all shed some tears.

We then headed to a great restaurant Le Pigeon. It was very small but takes quite some time to get reservations and after eating the food I can see why.

It's hard to imagine not having the Rosario's living down the street from us. I remember when we first got married they'd come over and hang out at our first apartment, our first house (where we did a marathon of events one summer - golf, visiting Mount St. Helens, ice blocking & hanging with our dogs) & when we moved to Bull Mtn., they ended up finding their home with in blocks from ours which was so much fun. We started a tradition of going to Sunriver for Thanksgiving - first with our dogs and then our children, traveling together to Arizona (GO BEAVS!), the Cayman Islands, and of course Cabo. We will miss them so much and wish them the very best on their next adventure. However, we look forward to visiting them next year in Tokyo and then hopefully we'll head to Bali!!!

I'll post pictures soon. We have a kid's pool party this weekend so the kids can all say their goodbyes so I imagine I'll have some cute shots from that event too.

Girls Weekend in Sunrivier

Allison and I decided to take our girls to Sunriver for a long weekend. The Rosario Family (Jason, Allison, Isabella, Jake and Noah) are all headed to Tokyo, Japan for a new adventure in Allison's career. They leave on August 4th. We needed a little girl time and it was a great weekend. Allison got some great pictures of the kids playing. You can see them on her blog.
Ladies Weekend

Soccer Camp

Olivia had soccer camp this week. I thought it would be great to give her a taste of outdoor soccer and she loved it. I came one day early to watch and I thought she was in time out...nope, she was the goalie. However, in Kindergarten soccer the kids all follow the ball and don't really play positions so she would be there for awhile until the coaches told them to move down to the other goal...it was so funny. She's looking forward to playing soccer this fall.

Camping at Timothy Lake

We decided to take the girls for their first camping trip. It was a great weekend at Timothy Lake. The nights were a bit cooler than we were expecting. The girls of course were taken care of but David and I froze our buns off Friday night. Enough to basically wake up and head in to Sandy to buy ourselves new sleeping bags. On Saturday night we slept so much better! Here's some pictures from our adventure.

Olivia wanted to know what restaurant we were going too...ha ha a girl after my own heart. However, she thought making the meals were so much fun and cleaning the dishes. I love this picture of Mia cracking up.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Washington. David had a race at Lake Stevens so we headed up a few days before to enjoy the sights. David said the bike course was the toughest he's done but his run time was a personal best. There were a ton of Ironheads (the group that David trains with) at the race so it was really fun to cheer them all on. Olivia got really in to it and has made fast friends with the team that we couldn't leave certain areas of the course until she saw them pass by.

I'm glad the girls enjoy this because these days would be much longer if they weren't a little interested in the events. Our next race is Ironman Canada - 7 weeks to go!

Riding Bikes

We decided to take the girls for a bike ride a couple weekends ago. It was a great day outside and so I got on my bike for the first time in 4 years...YIKES! I was a little bit of a zoo at first with clipping in and controlling my bike. David pulled the girls in the burley. We headed along the waterfront and the girls played in the fountain. It was a fun day.
